Summers, who is a professional like us, caught on to a Furniture Today article that slipped beneath our radar, and expounded on some of the reasons why the trend in wood living room furniture is here to stay.

Homeowners want furniture that retains a high level of value after purchase, and nothing displays this like a well-detailed piece of wood furniture. In the past, this design style was thought to be too expensive, not comfortable enough, and also not kid-friendly enough. Many of these styles... combine thick cushions with rich wood styling to give you the best of both worlds.

We couldn't agree more. Part of the eco-friendly movement is built around buying durable furniture that will last decades, as opposed to disposable furniture from big-box stores. We think that consumers will begin to see the value in furniture with more exposed wood, hand crafted accents, and minimal use of staples, glue, and untreated metal framework.
