Leather curved sectional sofas are rising in popularity due to a growing segment of apartment dwellers who are choosing to remain renters while the economy flattens out. Because of the rounded shape, these sofas help you utilize wasted corner space but are attractive enough to float in the center of the room as a peninsula. Lets take a look at a few examples of high quality leather curved sectional sofas.
Leather Curved Sectional Sofa Buyer's Guide
Our leather curved sectional sofa buyer's guide starts at Robb and Stucky. This super high-end furniture retailer displays a shining example of what a curved leather sectional should be, but at a relativly steep price. For $3,700, you get spring reinforced, high-density foam seating, natural unprotected leather, oversized brass nailhead trim, and solid hardwood construction. The matching hexagonal ottoman perfectly nests inside the curved sectional sofa. Fron the picture alone, you can get a feel for the quality of the leather used to create this piece, which we won't see in most other sofas in our buyer's guide.
The Weston Sectional, by Thomasville, is another candidate for top honors. Available with or without rustic brass nail trim, this leather curved sectional sofa is supported by handsome bun feet and a semi-attached back. If you live in a larger home, this sectional floats oerfectly in the center of a room. The sofa is rather large, at over 8 feet down each edge, so be sure to space plan your room accordingly before you visit your local Thomasville showroom.
At a lower price point, Ashley Furniture offers the DuraBlend double reclining loveseat. This corner unit is made with a blend of leather and polyurethane in the seat area, and color matched polyurethane in the arms and back cushions. This makes this leather curved sectional sofa much less expensive, but also considerably less durable. The attached seat cushions will be much more susceptable to wear, so use a bit more caution if considering this sofa in a house with pets or children.
Finally, we arrive at the "8004" sofa, as found on ModernLineFurniture.com. The unenthusiastic model number is usually the mark of Asian import furniture. The real value is that the price of the 8004 set is well under $2000. Like the DuraBlend leather curved sectional sofa, the 8004 uses color-matched bicast material. Worth noting, however, is that the framing used to create the sofa is made of hardwood, not MDF. While you certianly get what you pay for, it's hard to imagine $2000 stretching much further for a leather curved back sofa.
