The first thing you'll notice when visiting the Stray Dog Designs showroom at AmericasMart is that the company offers something different from anyone else. Playful, fun-loving, colorful, and bright, each piece in their collection has an innate personality.

Stray Dog Designs believes in making each of their pieces by hand. After their time spent in Mexico, the founders Bill and Jane knew that it was the perfect place to start bringing their designs to life. As a big believer in paying a fair wage to good people no matter where they live, the founders of Stray Dog Designs have a close connection to each of their employees.

Stray Dog Designs: The Beginning

Stray Dog Designs began as Bill Pritchard and Jane Gray ran away to Mexico after their marriage. While there, they connected with the people and began to export pottery with their first "child" in tow, a stray dog by the name of La Princessa.

One day, while visiting a tin workshop, one of Jane's friends asked her to draw something. As her friend had believed, Jane's drawing came to life as a quirky tin lamp. It wasn't long before Jane and Bill began designing all of their own furniture and experimenting with other recycled materials.

Stray Dog Designs Today

Now, Stray Dog Designs creates furniture from recycled paper mache, glass, tin, and iron. Although all of the handcrafted items are built in Mexico and Hati, the final assembly and quality control check occurs in the Stray Dog Designs warehouse.
