World Market Center Announces National Home Furnishings Month

World Market Center Las Vegas proudly announced the creation of National Home Furnishings Month, a celebration that strives to give consumers a behind-the-scenes look at the home furnishings industry, and the manufacturers, designers, and retailers that make it all possible. HGTV's Monica Pederson kicked off the event by giving personal design tips to consumers to help them recreate their own spaces and make home furnishings a bigger part of their daily lifestyle.

"The idea of refreshing one’s environment, even in the smallest ways, can have a restorative power and transform a house to a home. And, since the home is a place for family to celebrate life events, there is also a very powerful emotional return on this kind of investment," said Bob Maricich, CEO of World Market Center Las Vegas.

To help consumers get involved with the month, Las Vegas World Market Center launched homeyet.com, a website that gives advice to homeowners, inside looks at emerging trends, and a chance to win a room makeover. Through the month of September, five lucky winners will receive a $5,000 cash prize.

Consumers can quickly locate home furniture stores near them using a Store Locator tool that identifies area home furnishings stores. In an economy that rapidly shifted from frantic property flipping to stay-at-home vacations, consumers are beginning to shift their focus away from market value and toward comfortability and aesthetic. To this end, World Market Center hopes to deliver a more intimate look into the home furnishings industry to furniture buyers across the nation in order to create relationships between homeowners, manufacturers, designers, and retailers.
