Z Gallerie Files Chapter 11

Gardena California based furniture retailer Z Gallerie filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to reorginize. The growing homestore will remove 22 lease liabilities from closed stores and a closed warehouse in Atlanta, GA.

Z Gallerie closed 21 stores in recent months in order to cull expenses associated with underperforming sales. A representative from Z Gallerie stated that the company “has sufficient cash to operate all aspects of its business, including custom furniture orders through its stores and website, and is seeking court approval to do so.”

In its current state, Z Gallerie has more than 900 employees and 56 open stores. Best known for their artwork, Z Gallerie also carries a complete line of mid-priced and high-end furniture.
