1932, New York City; Theodore Baumritter and Nathan S. Ancell founded Baumritter Corporation. The primary focus of the Corporation was to be a Housewares Wholesaler, specializing in Trellises, Garden Swings and plaster gnomes. In 1936, Baumritter purchases a bankrupt factory known as Ethan Allen. They began their vision of producing furniture with a 28 piece line of Early American style furniture.
