Search Tips

Here are a few handy tips to help your find businesses you may be interested in:

The first place to start is the directory search page, where every business will be listed according to the filters that you set. These filters include business name, business type, state, and rating (expressed as a percentage).

While searching by name may sound simple, you may actually find more relevant results by leaving this field blank. A search for "plumbing" would reveal "Joe's Plumbing" and "P & L Plumbing", but it won't find "Pro Plumbers" or "Piping Specialists".

Searching by Business Type is likely to yield the best results. Remember that you can choose parent categories to receive a larger number of search results. If you need a bed for a child's room, you could select "Kid's Furniture Stores" to receive results from businesses that designate themselves as retailers of children's furniture. Selecting "Home Furniture Stores" will likely return an even larger list of furniture stores that may have a bed appropriate for the room in question.

Filter your results by State to narrow the results to stores that may be much closer to you. Use the 2 letter state code when designating your state (e.g. "CA" for California).

Enter a minimum rating to receive stores that have a high percentage of positive customer reviews. If you are looking for any business that is 4 stars or higher, enter 80 into the search field. If you want to widen your results slightly, enter 75.

100 = 5 Star
This elusive title belongs only to awesome companies that have only 5 star reviews. Be sure to read all of them to ensure accuracy and be sure to let the business know that you found them through Furniture Decorating!
80-99 = 4 Star
This percentage range contains the great companies that strive to provide the highest quality product and services. The most desirable businesses usually exist in this range.
60-79 = 3 Star
These three star businesses are generally customer focused, but a few issues or shortcomings are keeping their total customer experience from being ideal.
40-59 = 2 Star
2 Star businesses are sorely lacking in some way, and their customers are not shy about letting you know about what to expect. Please be sure to have all of your questions answered before you begin doing business.
1-39 = 1 Star
1 Star businesses are at the bottom of the barrel. Barring a complete misunderstanding, the previous customers of this business want you to know that there is much to be desired in the presentation, product, and service of this company.
