I just put the money down on Ikea's Datid gas cooktop, rangehood, and wall oven. I cannot wait to have them installed. As soon as I saw them in the flat black anthracite finish, I knew they were a perfect fit for my remodel.

I dont know if id trust ikia appliances. If they break, who will know how to work on it?
Unlike many of the other items IKEA sells that have generous warranty that stretch on for decades, the Datid appliances only have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. I would think twice before spending that kind of money on an IKEA appliance without a 3 year warranty at least.
I believe they have contracts with people who know how to work on those units. If not, they might have someone in-house. I simply can't picture that they would jeopardize their reputation with products that are unserviceable.
I hope I am not being naive.
Sorry for the long lapse. The appliances are installed, and they look wonderful. I did the research before buying, and discovered that the appliances are made by Whirlpool and have a 1 year warranty. While the employees at IKEA were friendly, they generally had little to no knowledge and gave me a web address to check out. I'm still very happy with my purchase, and I believe that Whirlpool makes good products.
I just bought these appliances as well and am waiting for them to be installed but I can't find any info on whether the datid wall oven (30") is gas or electric. Gorej, do you happen to have one of those and do you know by any chance?
Thanks
UPDATE: i just found out from delving layers deep into the ikea website that all their wall ovens are electric. So we'll have to cancel our order because this requires upgrading the electric supply into the house since we ended up with an electric dryer as well and it's too much power for the house.
It is electric, as you say. Not a lot of gas hookups here.
