I posted a room in the My Place Showcase a while ago, but didn't really come up with a clear solution. My living room is used for a lot of get-togethers with friends. We generally play a lot of Rock Band/Guitar Hero, which needs a lot of space, and we also do some other types of gaming. During the week, it's just my fiancée and I. We usually watch movies, game, and do internet stuff.
What is in the room right now is a mix of her stuff and mine, and it kind of matches. I need a good idea for a room makeover on a budget. It needs to be spacious (maybe even more floorspace than there is now) but I don't want it to feel like a concert hall when it's just my fiancée and I.
Help!

I would really like to help you out, but I don't think that picture really does your space justice. If you could get some pictures from other angles, I could probably make a few better suggestions for you.
Since you seem to be a pretty large group of "gamers" there are some furniture suggestions from companies with you in mind. If you're looking for something in the mid-range, LoveSac makes furniture you may be interested in. If ordering online is out of the question and traveling to one of their stores is too far, check your local Costco (though they usually only carry the ottomans, and not the actual couches).
If you're looking for something a bit more high-end, the Kelly Sectional looks like it might fit in great with your room. I've had hit-and-miss experiences with Broyhill, so I wouldn't buy this unless the customer service at your showroom is exceptionally helpful.
Again, please show me some extra pictures if you have them.

I still can't say "man cave" without giggling. That room needs serious renovation. Maybe you should let your fiancee have more of a say in the decor. IMO it's hard to make an apartment look good when you have such bland architecture and cheap carpet flooring to start with. You say "budget" and I hear "Ikea".

Thanks for sharing nice and helpful information. I am really glad for it.
Try World Market or Pier 1. However, these stores can be kind of expensive. You can do a modern look with vases and spray. Pier 1 might be better for this. Trust me, this adds a lot to a room. You would be amazed and you can do more than one with different spray styles in each.
Try bold wall colors and more muted colors in the decor (at least that's what I wish I COULD DO, can't-apt.)
"Modern" colors are usually more cold than warm. Black and white are always safe colors when going modern.

I think you can use some lightweight furniture, which you can move when there are lot of people and rearrange when there are just 2 of you at home. Get some ideas from here http://www.homesfurnishing.com/design-living-room/wall-unit-00.html
I am an interior decorator, always in search of new ideas and techniques to decorate homes. http://www.homesfurnishing.com
Invest in some furnishings which will meet your basic daily needs first - couch for relaxing or watching television, chairs for eating at the table or working at a desk, etcetera. From then, branch out into secondary furniture for parties you may host, etc.
